At the core of The Container Store is a genuine desire to make the world a better place, one organized space at a time. Beyond our neatly arranged shelves and curated storage solutions, we find inspiration in the shared values of compassion and community.

This holiday season, we transformed our locations across the country into hubs of generosity. From our stores and manufacturing facility to our distribution centers and corporate headquarters, our teams organized non-perishable food drives, assembled care packages, and donated toys and clothes all in the spirit of giving back to the communities where we live and work.

Here are a few of the ways we gave back this holiday season…

Food Drives: Where Organization Meets Generosity

Our teams across the country hosted nonperishable food donation drives benefiting local nonprofits and food pantries in hopes of making a meaningful impact on those facing food insecurity. These drives were hosted with a unique and creative twist, as teams were encouraged to create can-structutions using the items collected in their drives.

At our corporate headquarters and distribution center located in Coppell, Texas, our can-structions weighed in at 3,000 pounds and will providenearly 2,500 meals to families served by the North Texas Food Bank, a Texas based nonprofit hunger relief organization that distributes donated and purchased foods through a network of nearly 500 Partner Agencies and Organizations in 13 counties.

Care Packages: More Than Just Storage

Our passion for creating order extends beyond physical spaces, reaching the hearts of families facing difficult times. In Dallas, our Real Estate and Corporate Facilities teams assembled more than 200 "Bye Bye Bags" for the Vogel Alcove, a Dallas based nonprofit dedicated to helping young children and their families prevent & overcome the lasting and traumatic effects of homelessness and poverty. These snack sacks provide additional nutrition when the children are away from Vogel Alcove, helping to bridge the gap between meals. They also use Bye-Bye bags when families drop by with hungry kids, or when they know one of their families will not be receiving dinner at their shelter.

Unwrapping Joy: The Gift of Giving

Our employees in Raleigh hosted a gift-wrap donation drive in support of InterAct of Wake County, an organization dedicated to ending the cycle of domestic and sexual violence in Wake County, North Carolina. Through the drive, they were able to donate more than $400 worth of gift wrap, ribbon, bows, and bags in support of InterAct's annual Holiday Bazaar in a Box initiative, which provides survivors and their families with a special holiday care package that contains an assortment of items such as hot chocolate, a warm blanket, a game to encourage family time, and gift cards for each member of the family, allowing them to personally select gifts for their children and themselves.

At our corporate headquarters in Coppell, we collected toys and clothing for Community Partners of Dallas (CPD), an organization dedicated to addressing the urgent needs of abused and neglected children and their caseworkers. Through our collective generosity, we were able to extend holiday cheer to 100 children among the 4,000-plus recipients of CPD's crucial support, ensuring that each child received two meaningful gifts this holiday season.

Our Arlington, VA store location also participated in some wonderful holiday giving by partnering with Meg's Giveback. Founded by childhood leukemia survivor Meg Gallagher, Meg's Giveback holds twice-annual toy drives for children undergoing long-term hospital treatment. Our Arlington store's team collected and donated two dozen toys destined for the patients at Inova Children's Cancer Center to give them a bit of Christmas joy.

As we celebrate with our employees and customers around the country, let us remember to extend kindness to each other and seek to understand the heart behind the holidays and why they are all so important.

From all of us at The Container Store--we wish you a safe and happy holiday season!
